Dallas Builder Says Moves to Area Are Driving Sales
A Dallas homebuilder is reporting record sales for the first month of 2021. And Megatel Homes says relocations to the Dallas area are a big part of its success. The 15-year-old homebuilder sells houses and townhomes throughout North Texas and had more than 200 sales in January. The home sales generated a record $92 million in revenue.
“I am pleased that despite the effects of a global pandemic, Megatel Homes had a record-breaking January 2021, which followed a record year for our firm in 2020,” Zach Ipour, Megatel co-founder, said in a statement. “While commercial industries have been experiencing many shortcomings from the pandemic, residential real estate has been booming in sales, with the only challenge being supply not keeping up with increased demand. Our strategic focus on the more affordable end of the housing market that provides higher-density products allowed us to break our previous record and complete more than 200 sales in January.”
Megatel officials say that corporate moves to Texas from out of state contributed to the company’s record start to 2021. “The pro-business and research environments, attractive tax rates, regulatory climate, workforce and access to global markets are just a few reasons why several companies have recently relocated to the state,” Ipour said. Ipour said the Texas governor’s office “currently has 196 active relocation or expansion projects in the pipeline.”
