Jerry Jones' New Las Colinas Shopping Center Will Join Apartments and Hotels

The newest Las Colinas construction project is hard to miss. Located at the intersection of busy Carpenter Freeway and State Highway 161, the shopping center in Irving is a development of Blue Star Land and Lincoln Property Co. The 36,000-square-foot retail strip joins an apartment community under construction at the 36-acre Star Park development. Star Park is a project of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ Blue Star Land on one of Las Colinas’ last vacant corners.

“We hope to have the retail available and start leasing apartments this fall,” Blue Star Land general manager Joe Hickman said. “We have about half of it leased. We are moving forward now to get it finished."

Lincoln Property is building the 288 apartments in Star Park. 

Dallas Stars hockey team owner Tom Gaglardi’s Northland Properties has purchased land in the development for two new hotels and a restaurant. “A hotel is hoping to start later this year or early next year,” Hickman said. 

The Irving shopping center is one of two retail projects Blue Star Land and Lincoln Property are building in North Texas. “We have finished the second phase of our Gates of Prosper and have some good leases going,” Hickman said.
