Samsung is Making a Major Expansion Near DFW Airport
Telecom equipment and consumer products firm Samsung is almost doubling its operations in Coppell. Samsung is leasing an additional 259,000 square feet of industrial space in the Point West 240 building at 240 Dividend Drive north of DFW International Airport. The company’s new location is in Duke Realty’s Point West Industrial Park near Interstate 635.
Samsung Telecommunications America leased more than 250,000 square feet of space in the business campus in 2009 and moved a 500-job operation from Plano. The company has continued to grow since then.
The latest expansion is upping the tech firm’s commitment to the area.
“We are always looking for opportunities to enhance our existing space to support our mobile business operations,” a Samsung spokesman said in an email.
The company has already taken possession of the building space and is finishing out the expanded facility. Samsung now has 546,027 square feet in the building, said Duke Realty regional senior vice president Jeff Thornton, and it has other operations in the same area. “We are pleased to be able to continue to accommodate Samsung’s increasing industrial space need north of the DFW Airport,” Thornton said. “With their most recent expansion, Samsung now occupies over 1.46 million square feet of Class A industrial space with Duke Realty in one of D-FW’s most sought-after in-fill submarkets...”
