D-FW Led the Nation's Metro Areas in New Job Creation in 2019
It’s the third straight year that D-FW topped the charts.
Dallas-Fort Worth led the nation’s metropolitan areas in job creation in 2019, marking the region’s third straight year topping the charts.
New, relocating and expanding businesses in North Texas created 127,600 jobs during the year, according to new data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. That total bested New York and Los Angeles, which both added fewer than 100,000 new jobs.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, these 10 metro areas added the most new jobs in 2019.
The region’s job growth rate of 3.4% for the year also ranked third nationally among cities with populations of 1 million or more. It trailed only Raleigh, N.C. (3.7%) and Austin (3.5%).
Dallas-Fort Worth’s job gains have consistently been among the nation’s leaders since 2014, when it posted a record 136,900 new jobs for the year. It’s finished first in four of the last six years, and second and third in the other two years...
