Dallas County Tops Area in December Home Sales
December was a big month for Dallas-Fort Worth home sales, and Dallas County led the charge with 2,167, according to data from the MetroTex Association of Realtors.
North Texas home sales by real estate agents jumped 15% last month compared with December 2018 totals. Tarrant County was second with 2,138 preowned homes sold during the month. The biggest year-over-year increases were in Kaufman County at 37.1% and Denton County at 23.4%.
Collin County had the highest median home sales prices in December at $342,000. The biggest home price increases from a year ago were in Rockwall County and Kaufman County, both up 8.1%.
Across North Texas, real estate agents sold more than 9,000 homes through their multiple listing service. For all of 2019, over 108,000 single-family homes changed hands in the area — 3% more than in 2018, according to preliminary data from the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University and North Texas Real Estate Information Systems.
