UK Water Company Opening a Factory in Grapevine
A water dispenser maker is moving its North American headquarters to Grapevine, where it will open a second manufacturing center to counter rising tariffs between the U.S. and China.
Waterlogic USA is putting its new North American headquarters and “Center of Excellence” in Grapevine, in an industrial park facility at 3175 Bass Pro Drive. United Kingdom-based Waterlogic has a factory in China, where it makes its water dispenser and filtering systems, but the Grapevine facility will start making products for customers in the U.S. and Canada, said Casey Taylor, CEO of Waterlogic US. “Tariffs are definitely a contributing factor,” Taylor said. “But this is something Waterlogic has been looking at for a few years and we are running out of capacity at our facility in China.”
The company’s regional operations had been run out of Concord, Calif., but Waterlogic has expanded quickly in the last two years with several acquisitions and was looking for a central location for its North American sales. The company could get up to $524,400 from the Texas Enterprise Fund for moving to the site, if it hits job projections, according to Gov. Greg Abbott’s office. “I’m not surprised a business like this would want to locate here,” said Bob Farley, director of economic development for the city of Grapevine. “There is great airport access and this is a center for the labor market.”
The facility is near the intersection of Interstate 635 and State Highway 121, across from Grapevine Mills mall.
